Ferry Fest Felixstowe is an exciting new event in Felixstowe’s community and cultural calendar - a celebration of arts and community in the wonderful setting of Felixstowe Ferry. Over four fabulous days, Felixstowe Ferry Sailing Club, St Nicholas Church and the Millennium Green will host live music, art, craft, dance, photography, theatre, a ceilidh, beachcombing, picnics, a pirate themed family day and more.
Organisers
The event is organised by Felixstowe Festival Events, a not-for-profit community group, formed by volunteers who are all resident in the Felixstowe area. The group comprises professionals in the areas of hospitality and event management, education, media, finance and administration. The festival has the full support of the Felixstowe Ferry community, Felixstowe Sailing Club and Visit Felixstowe.
Purpose
The purpose of the festival is to provide a weekend of high quality original entertainment, showcasing this special part of Suffolk’s coast, as well as benefiting local causes including youth sailing and coastal rescue services. Given the location, the festival also has an environmental message. For example, the programme includes opportunities to appreciate the natural setting on the River Deben estuary with wildlife walks and talks, local storytelling, a photography competition, and a plastic pirate made by pupils at Kingsfleet Primary School from non-recyclable items of rubbish, to highlight the issue of marine pollution and conservation. We are confident this will generate significant publicity for the festival, both before and during the event.
Sponsorship
In order to make Ferry Fest Felixstowe a truly special event for the community and fulfil these aims, we are seeking support from local companies in the form of sponsorship by cash donation or in-kind. Funding will help us to book key contributors to the varied programme, such as musicians and activity leaders, and enable us to secure some essential elements, such as free transport to and from Felixstowe town centre. The organisers are keen that the festival should be affordable and accessible to all. The aim is to keep ticket prices low and, indeed, provide some of the festival programme free of charge.
Every little helps . . .
We are grateful for all contributions, no matter their size. For those businesses and organisations that are able to support us, we believe Ferry Fest Felixstowe represents an unmissable opportunity to be part of something new and exciting for the Felixstowe area. It will start small, but we are confident that with support it can grow to become an annual event that will give people another reason to visit Felixstowe and make a valuable contribution to our local economy.

Big ticket items
Higher levels of sponsorship are also available. Indeed, we invite you to become a ‘headline sponsor’ or partner, in return for which we can guarantee a higher level of publicity before, during and after the event, and additional tickets to festival events.
In particular, there are some elements of the festival that have higher costs attached to them which will be greatly helped by funding and which could attract ‘naming rights’, eg The Joe Bloggs Festival Marquee
These include:
-
transport to and from Felixstowe town centre on Saturday, Sunday and Monday
-
a marquee on Millennium Green, to provide an acoustic stage and family picnic area
-
Captain Fanplastic – plastic pirate made from non-recyclable items of rubbish
We are happy to discuss these and all support/sponsorship opportunities with you directly. We hope that we can count on your support to make this a fabulous event for Felixstowe.
